Talent, fast tracker, high potential…….a lot has been said and even more written about what talent is . Fact is, every organisation has its own conception of what talent encompasses. But it’s beyond dispute that the recruitment and retention of talented people is important to every company!

ING has become big and successful thanks to our staff. That is why talent – and especially the recognition of talent – is important to us. Promising staff can develop into future leaders, managers or specialists who will raise ING onto a higher plane. For this reason, we offer young talent various possibilities to further develop the appropriate qualities for their career track. So their full potential can emerge.

WHAT DOES ING UNDERSTAND BY TALENT?

Talented individuals show that they have the potential to be successful within ING. They have both the driving ambition and the special qualities to become a future leader. These people know how to inspire others. As far as we’re concerned, talented staff:

  • are passionate about achieving results, including vision and strategy, which they can communicate to others;
  • can ‘connect’ well, both with clients and the people in their teams;
  • are open to change and possess the spirit of entrepreneurship that is so unique to ING;
  • come with new, refreshing ideas and have the courage to take the steps needed to realise them;
  • impart energy to the people around them, take decisions, and transform goals into concrete results;
  • do not pretend to be someone they are not;
  • are conceptual thinkers and have, above all, the ambition to become a future leader!

HOW CAN YOU DEVELOP YOUR TALENT WITHIN ING?

ING Talent Programme (ITP)

If you possess the qualities we seek and you aspire to a multifaceted career, then ING can offer you the chance and the space to spread your wings and develop your talents further.

The ITP is a three-year traineeship with nine career tracks, with each one developed especially for holders of Masters degrees with no more than two years’ work experience. Crucially, it’s not your field study that matters most to us, but your qualities and personality.

The idea of the traineeship is that you gain on-the-job experience. So you start with a project that will evolve into a two-year position. You discuss your projects and position, which in general will fit with your interests and developmental needs, with your careers officer. He or she will help you to set out and guide the course of your career, by acting as a sounding board and coaching, among other things. And you will take part in a comprehensive training programme that is focused on both personal and professional development.

ING Welcome

For trainees working in the Netherlands, the ING Welcome precedes the ING International Graduate Programme (IIGP). During the two-day ING Welcome, you lay the foundation for your network within ING. You get to meet fellow trainees across all business lines, who started at about the same time as you. Furthermore you learn about ING, our course and our strategy.

ING International Graduate Programme (IIGP)

The IIGP is an intensive programme for young talent in ING worldwide. During the IIGP, you will learn about the full scope of ING, see and meet senior managers, and focus on your own development. You will also get the chance to expand your international network, which can be very useful later on in your career. In the third year of your traineeship, you will get to the chance to apply your experience and knowledge to real-life business cases and projects.
